Texas Longhorns

Frontcourt players: JR Jericho Sims, JR Royce Hamm Jr.

2018 commits: No. 53 Kamaka Hepa, No. 96 Jaxson Hayes

Sims has a real good chance to be a star big man in the Big 12, after showing his potential during Mo Bamba’s time missed with an injury. That could actually be a problem with Killeya-Jones if he came to Austin, with both players having similar games and neither able to stretch the floor.

System-wise he would fit very well with Shaka Smart’s team, with his athleticism combined with the ability to play good defense. The issue, of course, will be whether’s he’ll even be the best at it.

Odds of going to Texas: Slim, with a potential logjam occurring with the Longhorns in a couple of years

Wake Forest Demon Deacons

Frontcourt players: JR Oliver Sarr

2018 commits: No. 21 Jaylen Hoard, No. 91 Isaiah Musius, No. 335 Christian Lorng

This one might seem like a bit of a surprise, but Danny Manning’s reputation from both his playing days and now as a coach of bigs has put him in a decent position to get another potential frontcourt star.

After a disappointing season, Wake Forest will be undergoing big changes, and Killeya-Jones would be the face of that rebuilt roster. The issue won’t be getting on the court, but rather will he be surrounded by enough talented players to enhance his play.

Odds of going to Wake Forest: Has a shot, but behind several teams as a viable contender

I have no insight into Killeya-Jone’s decision-making, but if winning while playing a good amount of minutes are his top goals, then Nevada, NC State, Notre Dame, and Arizona State could be his best bets. But honestly, there aren’t any real favorites, as each team has a shot to land him. What he decides to do will end up as a huge win for that team’s off-season.
