1. Trevon Bluiett, Xavier

Head coach Chris Mack wasn’t the only one to leave his mark at Xavier University. Imagine starting at a top-ranked college for four-years, accumulating over 2,000 points throughout your career and then not getting an invite to the NBA Combine. Well, that’s actually what happened to Xavier senior Trevon Bluiett.

As a senior, Blueitt poured in 19.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game while shooting 41.7 percent behind the arc. He ranked sixth in the Big East Conference this year in 3-point shooting. His 3-point shooting improved as did his scoring and still, no invite to the 2018 NBA Draft Combine.

It should be added motivation for Bluiett at this juncture. At 6-foot-6, 198 pounds, he’s got the body type of prototypical NBA player, but still didn’t get an opportunity to prove himself with an invite to the combine.

It’s hard to imagine a Consensus All-American who broke the school record for most 3-pointers made in a career (319) and most 3-pointers made in a season (105) was snubbed, but it’s true. The truth is it’s harder than ever to make it to the NBA, no matter who you are.

Tune in to the NBA Draft Combine on May 17 at 3PM EST on ESPN2.
