Michigan

Starting Five: Trey Burke, Nik Stauskas, Lavell Blanchard, Daniel Horton, Tim Hardaway Jr.

Bench: Moritz Wagner, Manny Harris, Derrick Walton Jr, DeShawn Sims, Caris LeVert, Bernard Robinson Jr, Dion Harris, Darius Morris, Lester Abram, Zak Irvin

MVP: Burke, and it’s not even close. Just for the shot against Kansas alone.

The Wolverines are not spectacular up top after Burke, but this is a solid squad of 15 guys. Shoutout to Spike Albrecht.

Michigan State

Starting Five: Draymond Green, Mateen Cleaves, Denzel Valentine, Morris Peterson, Kalin Lucas

Bench: Charlie Bell, Drew Neitzel, Jason Richardson, Miles Bridges, Maurice Ager, Paul Davis, Gary Harris, Chris Hill, Keith Appling

Practice Squad: Adrien Payne, Matt Costello, Alan Anderson, Shannon Brown, Raymar Morgan, Goran Sutton, Jaren Jackson Jr, Branden Dawson, Brynn Forbes

MVP: Cleaves was a three-time All-American, two-time Big Ten Player of the Year, and helped earn Izzo’s only title to date, but he only played half of a season this century. Green is a current favorite in the NBA, but Valentine was the best player in the nation.

Our first (and only?) use of the practice squad in the Big Ten. Izzo’s crew are the overwhelming conference favorites so far, with only Ohio State and Wisconsin standing a chance from the rest of the list.
