Buddy Boeheim – Wolfeboro, NH

Guard | 6-foot-5 | 170 lbs | No. 346 overall

Buddy Boeheim may be the son of Syracuse’s head coach but don’t let that fool you; He has plenty of game and brings enough size to easily play on the wing at a high-major level. In fact, his scholarship offer from Gonzaga clearly shows that Boeheim is not just coming to Syracuse because of his father. A knockdown shooter from the perimeter, Boeheim can stretch the floor better than just about anyone in the 2018 class. In addition, though, Boeheim is an incredibly smart basketball player and seems to always be in the right position defensively. With plenty of size to play on the wing, he can be a capable two-way player with an elite offensive skill.

A remarkable threat when coming off of screens and in catch-and-shoot situations, Boeheim brings a much-needed skill to Syracuse. The Orange were one of the worst shooting teams in all of college basketball a year ago and adding a shooting presence for the future makes sense. Even if Boeheim does not play a substantial role as a freshman, he brings an elite skill to the table that will surely find playing time in the future.

On the EYBL circuit last spring and summer, Boeheim competed in 17 games for City Rocks. Over the course of that stretch, he averaged 12.2 points and 3.3 rebounds per game. These numbers may not look spectacular but his shooting splits certainly were: 53.5 FG%, 48.3 3P%, 85.2 FT%.
