Robert Braswell – Blythewood, SC

Forward | 6-foot-9 | 175 lbs | No. 148 overall

At 6-foot-9 with a balanced set of skills, Robert Braswell is relatively polished and well-rounded for a player coming out of high school. With his height, he projects as a power forward at the college level and he has a dangerous offensive game for that size. Braswell has already shown the ability to step out and knock down the 3-point shot and he can also attack the basket with regularity. An above-average athlete as well, Braswell can match up well defensively against other stretch bigs as he is quick enough to keep up on the perimeter. In regards to defending the paint, though, he needs to bulk up a bit.

Considering Braswell weighs only 175 pounds, he needs to add some muscle before he is a dominant force at the ACC level. He is already quite polished and skillful but does not have the muscle or weight to compete for rebounds or defend at a high level inside at the moment. Because of this, he could be limited in terms of minutes during his first year on campus. Nonetheless, he has the height and set of skills to be an incredibly impactful player over time.

Over the course of last spring and summer, Braswell played 12 games for Team United on the EYBL circuit. He averaged 7.1 points (56.6 FG% / 52.9 3P% / 50.0 FT%) and 2.6 rebounds per game. In addition, I will say that his free throw percentage there should be taken with a grain of salt considering he only attempted 12 shots from the charity stripe. He has a soft stroke on his jumper and that is evident on film and in his shooting numbers (9-for-17 from three).

Braswell had this to say about the culture at Syracuse (247Sports):

"“Syracuse because it’s a great place. It’s a great family. Almost all the coaches have played for coach [Jim] Boeheim, so it has a really good family feeling. They have a great team and a great campus. I think it’s a all around good place.’"
