5. Siler Schneider, UC Davis

UC Davis Aggies guard Siler Schneider is one rising star to keep an eye on in the Big West. He played a key role in 2017-18 as the Aggies went 12-4 in conference play and won the regular season conference title.

Schneider averaged 13.9 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.1 steals per game in 2017-18. The rising senior went from starting just two games in 2016-17 to starting 32 games last games and his production benefited. He shot 44.3 percent from the floor and just 32.1 percent from 3-point range. With a bigger role, his efficiency dropped a bit from behind the arc, but he excelled as a shooter from the floor.

After a full season in the starting rotation is now under his belt, look for Schneider and UC Davis to remain atop the Big West. They’ll need to seal the deal this year in the conference tournament or they could find their season cut short again.
