Kansas Basketball: Breaking down the 2018 recruiting class
Ochai Agbaji – Kansas City, MO
Forward | 6-foot-6 | 195 lbs | No. 131 overall
Moving into the scholarship players in this class, Ochai Agbaji comes in ranked as the No. 131 recruit in the country. At 6-foot-6, he brings solid size to play on the wing and is already tremendously well-built for the college level. Unlike some players who need to bulk up in the weight room prior to receiving meaningful minutes at the college level, Agabji has enough strength and athleticism to compete right away.
Because of these physical attributes, Agbaji projects as an outstanding two-way player at Kansas. Due to his size, athleticism, and strength, he should be able to guard positions 2-through-4 defensively and manage just about any switch thrown his way. In addition, he uses these same gifts to score on acrobatic finishes around the basket offensively. Agbaji has a well-rounded offensive game with the ability to score at all three levels.
During his senior season of high school ball, Agbaji posted averages of 27.6 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game while shooting 56.3% from the field and 34.8% from three. In addition, he converted on 80.0% of his free throw attempts.
