Virginia Tech Basketball: Top 2019 recruiting targets for the Hokies
Anthony Harris Jr.
Anthony Harris Jr. is probably one of the most sought-after guards for his versatility on both ends but the Virginia Tech Hokies were one of the first teams to offer him back in July 2016. Harris is a Top 100 ranked prospect in the class of 2019 and for good reason.
He’s a member of this year’s Peach Jam champion Team Takeover (DC). They went 30-0 in AAU play this summer and took home this year’s EYBL title without losing a game. Harris averaged 8.2 points, 2.5 assists and 2.3 rebounds per game while shooting 43.8 percent (21-of-48) on the EYBL circuit. He played on a roster that boasted the talents of Justin Moore, Armando Bacot, Jeremy Roach, and Hunter Dickinson.
Harris attends Paul VI in Fairfax, VA, which matters a bit considering former Virginia Tech guard Erick Green also attended his senior season there. As Harris enters his final season of high school, he’ll have a decision to make and the Hokies certainly wouldn’t be a bad one. They’re losing guard Justin Robinson and could use a new leader as they approach a time of roster turnover.
