NCAA Basketball Recruiting: Breaking down where 4-star forward Malik Hall will land
Any true threats to Purdue to land Hall?
Oregon: Hall has also visited the Ducks , who Hall said had been recruiting him the hardest, earlier this summer.
The Ducks are expected to have three scholarships available for 2019. The question will be how much do they really want Hall as small forward is not a particular need at this point. The Ducks already have highly touted sophomore Abu Kigab and five-star Louis King at small forward.
Texas: The Longhorns have been pursuing Hall hard as well and he told BurntOrangeNation that Shaka Smart is the only the only head coach who has Face Timed him.
The Longhorns are only projected to have two scholarships available for 2019 and have 13 open offers. Also, forward is not really a need for the Longhorns though it wouldn’t them to add another small forward. Currently, true freshmen Gerald Liddell and Brock Cunnungham are the only players on the position’s depth chart.
Oklahoma: The Sooners are going to have rebuild next year OU already has a commitment from 2019 shooting guard De’Vion Harmon though they have five scholarships left to use. Small forward is a position of need for the Sooners.
Here is what Hall said about Oklahoma.
"“They’ve had a good team. They’ve had players just like me. They’ve had players from the program that I’ve come from [Mokan Elite] that have loved the school. I think they have a great coaching staff, so I’m definitely looking forward to that school.”"
My Prediction
I believe that Purdue is the favorite for Hall’s service as well and believe that is where he ends up if the Boilermaker’s don’t secure Brooks or a pair of another of their top targets. I think Oklahoma is No.2 because of the relationship between OU and Mokan. Plus, the Sooners need a lot. Texas is third followed by Oregon and then MSU.
