Can Oregon State climb in the Pac-12 this season?

For a team that hasn’t finished higher than sixth place in the conference over the last 10 years and doesn’t have much of a post-season pedigree, the Beavers were on the brink of turning the corner last season. Last season the Beavers went 8-4 during the non-conference portion of their schedule, but a loss to St. John’s was the only game against a power-five conference team. This season they take part in U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam in November, after a first-round game with Old Dominion, possible meetings with the likes of Penn, Kansas State, and Missouri could loom.

League play will test the Beavers right away as they face archrival Oregon in the opener, then host the LA schools UCLA and USC before traveling to Arizona to face the Wildcats and Sun Devils all before the end of January.
