7. Dalono Banton – Guard – Western Kentucky

Head coach Rick Stansbury has been busy rebuilding the cupboard for the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers on the recruiting trail. Incoming for 2018-19 is a strong recruiting class and guard Dalano Banton makes up half of this year’s highly-rated group.

Banton is a Canadian native that ranks 92nd overall in the 2018 recruiting class. At 6-foot-5, he possesses the versatility to play either guard position for Western Kentucky in his freshman season. The Hilltoppers went 14-4 in the Conference USA last season but lost in the conference tournament to secure an automatic bid.

They return sophomore Taveion Hollingsworth, a 6-foot-2 guard, who put up 13.3 points per game in 2017-18. With Banton, they’ll be loaded in the backcourt under Coach Stansbury for 2018-19. Banton’s growth could go a long way in carrying this team to the NCAA Tournament, although he won’t be the only player to keep an eye on their roster.
