NCAA Basketball Recruiting: Top 10 mid-major recruits for 2018-19
4. Filip Petrusev – Forward – Gonzaga
Head coach Mark Few hasn’t skipped a beat with the Gonzaga Bulldogs. He’s got 20 NCAA Tournament appearances under his belt since becoming their head coach in 1999. Few’s squad will be loaded once again for the 2018-19 season, especially in the frontcourt.
6-foot-10 big man Filip Petrusev will be one freshman to keep an eye on. He ranks as the 76th ranked player in the 2018 recruiting class. Petrusev spent the 2017-18 season at Montverde Academy (FL) where he won the GEICO High School Nationals championship. He scored 15 points on five 3-pointers in the final victory over University School, 76-58.
Petrusev is a European prospect on the FIBA circuit as well. The Serbian native led his national team to a Gold medal after averaging 21.0 points, 8.7 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.3 blocks per game in the FIBA U18 European Championships. He’s a player that will work wonders in the Bulldogs’ rotation in 2018-19 in the frontcourt.
