DePaul Blue Demons

Biggest Need: Adding more talent.

This need might seem obvious but it is incredibly true in the case of the DePaul. Easily one of the worst programs in the Big East over the past few years, the Blue Demons are in desperate need of increasing their talent level in order to compete. DePaul is a bottom-feeder seemingly every single year and the program will only rise out of the basement if recruiting improves. It is simply impossible to compete in a major conference such as the Big East without high-level recruiting or insane player development.

Thankfully, head coach Dave Leitao and Co. are off to a solid start for the 2019 class. Even though they only have one commitment, it is a darn good one. The top prospect out of Michigan in the 2019 class, Romeo Weems represents a future star for the Blue Demons. Standing at 6-foot-7 with outrageous skill as a small-ball power forward, Weems is ranked as the No. 50 recruit in the class. However, he cannot turn around the program himself and thus will need to be used as a building block for a strong overall 2019 class.

As of right now, DePaul seems to be involved, per 247Sports, with one of the top Chicagoan talents in the 2019 class in Markese Jacobs (No. 94), who was once committed to Kansas. If the Blue Demons are able to snag him, then that will be a major recruiting win for the program. Considering DePaul will lose both Eli Cain and Max Strus, among others, after this coming season, a strong recruiting class this year will be necessary in order to keep the team even remotely competitive.
