Robbie Beran

Just a day after receiving the second commitment from a 2019 prospect, Collins added a third player to his current class in Beran.

Beran committed to the Wildcats a day after taking an official visit to Evansville, according to the Chicago Tribune. The 6-foot-9 forward is a consensus four-star recruit. He is ranked 78th in the class by 247Sports Composite and 46th by 247Sports. ESPN has him ranked 100th in the class while Rivals lists him at No. 97.

The Richmond (Va.) native chose Northwestern over Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech — his other finalists. He also took official visits to Boston College Kansas State.

Beran is a very talented and versatile player who can play both forward spots. He runs the floor well and he can really shoot the ball. Beran doesn’t need much room on the catch to get a shot off, due to a quick release, and he possesses the ability to put the ball on the floor. Despite not possessing elite athleticism, he is a capable shot-blocker as he gets off the floor quickly.

Beran had a breakout AAU campaign this summer. He averaged 14 points for Collegiate High School as a junior. According to 247Sports, Beran is the highest-rated player ever to commit to the Wildcats. He slightly edges out current freshman Pete Nance for that honor.
