The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets have a non-conference schedule built to test their resolve in 2018-19. They open the season on Nov. 9 against the Lamar Cardinals, a team that went 19-14 but shouldn’t be much of a challenge for the Yellow Jackets. A road game against the Tennessee Volunteers will be an early test for Georgia Tech on Nov. 13. The Volunteers defeated the Yellow Jackets last season on road, 77-70.

Three home games against the East Carolina Pirates (Nov. 16), UT-Rio Grande Valley Vaqueros (Nov. 21) and Prairie View A&M Panthers (Nov. 23) should be good for their confidence. The Yellow Jackets beat the Vaqueros by 10 last season. It’s their first ever meeting against Prairie View A&M.

After those three home games, Georgia Tech travels to face the Northwestern Wildcats in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge on Nov. 28. It’ll be a rematch of last year’s 52-51 victory, so expect more fireworks in this year’s game. Following the challenge, the Yellow Jackets face the St. John’s Red Storm in the Hoophall Miami Invitational on Dec. 1. They will have their hands full with Shamorie Ponds and company.

Two more home games against Florida A&M (Dec. 9) and Gardner Webb (Dec. 17) will prepare the Yellow Jackets for two more games against SEC foes, Arkansas (Dec. 19) and Georgia (Dec. 22).  Georgia Tech has lost the last three meetings against the Bulldogs but won the last four games against the Razorbacks.

Two home games against Kennesaw State and USC Upstate should help the Yellow Jackets close their non-conference schedule out on a high note.
