Biggest announcements yet to come

There have already been plenty of commitments and signings, yet there are still plenty of big names left on the board. In fact, the top six players for the 2019 recruiting class (James Wiseman, Vernon Carey, Cole Anthony, Jaden McDaniels, Isaiah Stewart, and Matthew Hurt) aren’t with a team and may wait until the Spring to ultimately decide.

For teams still looking for an elite big, five of the six are frontcourt players who can make a tremendous impact. Anthony is the only guard of the group, with North Carolina and Notre Dame in the running to land him.

Duke isn’t but is in play for the top bigs, including Carey, Hurt and Stewart. They’ve yet to land one for the 2019 class so expect at least one, if not more. Kentucky is involved with a few of them as well, including a bitter battle with Memphis for James Wiseman. McDaniels is the wildcard out west, with San Diego State, Texas, UCLA and Washington fighting for his services.

Each of the six will make huge decisions that’ll have an impact on NCAA Basketball for the 2019-20 season. And there will be even more takeaways than of this recruiting class. But it’s clear that with the NCAA hovering over several programs, we haven’t heard the last of many of the signings one way or another.
