The Pac-12 moves up in these rankings, not necessarily by how well they have played but more because how badly some other conferences have looked. Oregon had a shot to show the country what the conference had but got dominated by Iowa in New York. They did come back and beat Syracuse but for a team that thought they could possibly be a top ten team, it was a disappointing showing.

Arizona State has been a pleasant surprise so far including a tough win against Mississippi State. Arizona got up early on Gonzaga in Hawaii before falling in the second half and UCLA is still undefeated but they have not played a top team yet. We will find a lot more about them this weekend when they play Michigan State and then either Texas or North Carolina.

After that, the conference has shown little to be excited about. There are a bunch of teams with one loss but nobody has a marquee win. Washington did beat Texas A&M on Tuesday but is that a great win or just a solid one? Time will tell and the Pac-12 does have some opportunities for some big wins coming up. If they can show well in those games, they will move up.
