Wofford Terriers

Is it likely that Wofford receives an at-large bid this year? No, but the Terriers did a nice job building their resume during this past week thanks to victories over South Carolina (away) and East Tennessee State. And while their losses to North Carolina and Oklahoma still linger, there are resume-defining opportunities still left on Wofford’s non-conference schedule. But without their wins over SC and ETSU this week, their at-large hopes might have already been dashed.

Looking ahead, Wofford still has two huge road games left on the schedule against top-25 teams in Kansas and Mississippi State. And while winning both of these games might seem like a longshot, Wofford has the type of scorers who can erupt on any opponent on any given night. We saw that last year against North Carolina and maybe lightning strikes a few more times prior to the end of this year. It seems extremely unlikely that Wofford will receive an at-large bid this year but the hopes are still alive.

Senior guard Fletcher Magee (17.9 points on 37.9% from three) is a major reason for this optimism but he is far from alone. Cameron Jackson (13.1 points, 8.0 rebounds) and Nathan Hoover (12.6 points on 51.0% from three) have also been superb so far to help guide the Wofford offense. The Terriers are currently averaging a point differential of +20.8.
