6. Nevada Wolf Pack
Record: 11-0 (0-0 MWC)
Last Week: No. 7
Nevada played one game during this past week and it was a fun one against South Dakota State. Sure, it was likely closer than Nevada fans would have liked but, in the end, the team still walked away victorious and as one of the few remaining undefeated teams in the nation. Nevada’s offense was held a bit in check during that matchup but it is safe to assume that the Wolf Pack resume their 80+ scoring ways fairly soon.
This is a team that can simply fill up the basket against any opponent and it is what will make them so dangerous in the NCA Tournament. With Caleb Martin and Jordan Caroline leading the way, this team has some incredibly difficult players to match up against. Head coach Eric Musselman did a superb job putting this roster together and his scheming has them in a position to win just about every night.
The clear-cut favorite to win the Mountain West at this point in time, it is reasonable to start discussing Nevada’s potential to snag a No. 1 seed this season. If they play to their potential, I am not sure there is a single team in conference play that can compete with them and they *might* be able to enter the NCAA Tournament undefeated. That…would be something.
