2. Duke Blue Devils

Record: 9-1 (0-0 ACC)

Last Week: No. 2

Duke did not play during this past week and therefore stay put at No. 2 in the rankings. Behind their onslaught of impressive freshmen, the Blue Devils have clearly been one of the best teams in the nation to this point but their lone loss (at the hands of Gonzaga) is preventing them from snagging the top spot in these rankings. Coach K must be thinking, “soon…”, though.

Moving forward, Duke has a big opportunity coming up to once again prove how talented they are prior to conference play. On Dec. 20, the Blue Devils will face off against another top-15 team in the Texas Tech Red Raiders. This will be one of the most highly-anticipated games of the coming week and it will be interesting to see if Texas Tech hangs around or if Duke puts the pressure on early.

R.J. Barrett and Zion Williamson, both of whom are averaging 20+ points per game, remain the offensive leaders for this team. But, as everybody knows, anyone can erupt on any given night for this team. They are that talented from top to bottom.
