The Cards Need The Junior Captain’s Help To Make An Improbable Run

VJ King is Louisville’s lone 5 star recruit and McDonald’s All-American on the current roster. His struggles to produce on the court this year have been both incredibly noticeable and harshly criticized by foes and fans alike.

The Junior has perhaps never been the scorer and difference maker the scouting and rankings would have had us believe but VJ has, in both years prior as a Cardinal, shown glimpses of greatness and the steadiness of a high-major college basketball role player.

With King’s change of number from 0 to 13 in the offseason, a number of fans thought they might see a turn of the page in mentality for the once prolific high school scorer. Maybe even thinking they’d get to see the V.J. that’d been so dominate over Ohio’s High School Basketball leagues.

Disappointingly though, King seems more timid than even in years past and he has seen his minutes and production decrease in turn.

This Louisville team has already exceeded expectations for the season, for Christmas I’m asking you to help V.J. meet his.
