At Penn State on Jan. 13th

Originally before the season began, I predicted that this would be Michigan State’s first road loss. However, fast forward and Penn State has not had the season that they originally had hoped for. Even though Penn State has a very impressive non-conference win on their resume when they defeated top 10 ranked Virginia Tech, the Nittany Lions have struggled in Big Ten play.

They are currently winless at 0-5 but that doesn’t tell the whole story. They lost on the road to Maryland by only 7 points and were defeated at Nebraska by only 6 points. Penn State also only lost at home by 2 points to Indiana and held Michigan in Ann Arbor to only 25 1st half points and only being down by 5 points to start the 2nd half. However, the Spartans should look to do what Wisconsin did early this week to the Nittany Lions when the traveled to Happy Valley and beat Penn State 71-52.

This will not be an easy game with Langford expected to miss his 4th straight game but I believe Michigan State will be able to handle Penn State on the road.

Prediction: Michigan State 74 Penn State 61
