15. Wake Forest Demon Deacons (7-8) (0-3 ACC)

Last rank: 15th (↔)

The Wake Forest Demon Deacons are one of the winless teams in the ACC right now as they’ve lost their first three conference games by an average margin of 15.3 points. Head coach Danny Manning had a productive nonconference schedule, going 7-3 but with losses against St. Joseph’s, Houston Baptist and Richmond, their odds against tougher foes has changed a bit.

The Demon Deacons have fallen to Duke already and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and Miami Hurricanes on the road already as conference play has gotten underway. Their three games will all come against ranked foes in the NC State Wolfpack, Virginia Tech Hokies and Virginia Cavaliers, with the latter of the two coming on the road.

It will be interesting to see if any adjustments can be made by Wake Forest and their coaching staff. They haven’t gotten much out of Torry Johnson in their backcourt but the players are there to look for a replacement. Manning moved Sharone Wright Jr. into the starting lineup against the Hurricanes but that produced minimal results. Wins could be hard to come by in the ACC for the Demon Deacons. They’ll be a team to keep an eye on as they could be this year’s version of the Pittsburgh Panthers.
