14. Boston College Golden Eagles (9-6) (0-3 ACC)

Last rank: 12th (↓2)

The Boston College Golden Eagles have hit a bit of a rough patch with conference play ramping up. After winning three games in a row to finish up their nonconference slate, they’ve lost four games in a row, including three straight ACC contests since Jan 5.

The Golden Eagles lost their most recent ACC game this past Saturday against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, 69-66, on the road. They’ve gotten all they can from Ky Bowman, who put up 24 points and 16 rebounds in the game as well as Nik Popovic, who posted 15 points and 10 rebounds in the starting lineup, but they’re missing the presence of Steffon Mitchell in the lineup.

Mitchell has missed the past two contests in conference play due to a quad injury, which has really weakened the Golden Eagles’ defense. Boston College gave up 83 points this past Wednesday without Mitchell as they put up just 56 points in a crushing defeat.

The bench posted just three points against the Fighting Irish, showing just how top-heavy Boston College has become without Mitchell in the rotation. They’ll need him back soon with a road game coming up against the Louisville Cardinals and a home game against the Florida State Seminoles next Sunday.
