13. Missouri Tigers

Last Week: 11th (↓ 2)

Missouri has absolutely fallen on their face this year. It began when they lost Jontay Porter for the season due to injury. No one expected them to be great without Porter, but they certainly didn’t expect this type of performance so far. The Tigers are one of only three teams without a win in conference play despite playing a very winnable game against South Carolina.

Against the Gamecocks, Mizzou failed to limit fouls. South Carolina shot 35 free throws, sinking 29 of them. If the Tigers could have limited those shots at the line, they could have easily won the game. They were favored in almost every other stat line. They also had two starters held to 20 minutes or left due to foul trouble, one fouling out in just 13 minutes of play.

Missouri has a chance to right the ship when they host Alabama in their next game. The Tide have struggled with consistency, especially on the road. They also aren’t known for sinking a lot of free throws, so this is a very winnable game for the Tigers.

Missouri’s 68.6 points a game is one of the worst in the nation. They simply can’t rely on their defense to win in the SEC. Without a true scorer like Porter, this might be a long season for Tigers fans.
