NCAA Basketball: Buy or sell Gonzaga, Marquette, NC State and Nevada
3. Gonzaga Bulldogs: BUY
The boys from Spokane don’t have much room to go up from where they are now, but they’re going to find a way to do it by the end of the season. You can take this to the bank – Gonzaga will not lose another game for the rest of the season.
With 11 wins left to earn in the regular season and 2 more to nab in the West Coast Conference tournament, Gonzaga will come into Selection Sunday with 30+ wins. One of those wins will be against Duke. There is no way the selection committee can leave Gonzaga off of the one seed line with that resume.
Another reason that I assigned a “Buy” rating to Gonzaga is because they are pretty safe. Considering they already went into War Memorial Gym and took down the Dons, they don’t really have an imposing match-up left on their schedule. I really feel the worst-case scenario for the Bulldogs on Selection Sunday is a 2-seed, which is where most bracketologists have them slotted at the moment.
When creating your basketball investment portfolio, you need to start with a low risk team that may offer a decent return. With the leadership of future lottery pick Rui Hachimura, Gonzaga is in great shape to make some noise come March.
