Baylor Bears

After starting this season a bit slow, especially when you consider their season-opening home loss to Texas Southern, Baylor has turned it on a bit as of late. Head coach Scott Drew continues to prove why he is one of the best (and most underrated) in the business and the team looks like one that could land an at-large bid. While just about every team on the bubble in the nation has dropped games as of late, the Bears have been consistently taking care of business and moving up the rankings.

During this past week alone, Baylor took down West Virginia (away) and Alabama (home) to make their latest moves. These two victories moved Baylor’s winning streak to four games with a couple of difficult tests ahead. In fact, the next seven games for the Bears will come against teams ranked in the KenPom top-50, including four of them on the road. Even though they might struggle during this stretch, it is important to take note of how Baylor has moved into the projected field.

Baylor was far from making the tournament just a couple of weeks ago but they now stand at 4-2 in Big 12 play with a non-conference win over ‘Bama also tossed in. This team is performing at a high level and they have played their way into most bracketology projected fields. The Bears are currently featured in 47 of the 88 projected fields on the Bracket Matrix. They also landed a No. 12 seed in our most recent field.
