Georgetown is looking to add two more players to the class of 2019

After playing a weak non-conference schedule in his first season as coach, Ewing upped the slate a little bit this year. Still, the Hoyas got off to a solid start to the season as they began the campaign on a three-game winning streak and ended up victorious in seven of their first eight.

Georgetown (14-8) has played well in Big East play and currently sits third in the conference with a 4-5 record. Thus far, the Hoyas have been in every league game and their best win came against St. John’s at Madison Square Garden. The Hoyas finished last season with a 15-15 record after closing the season on a five-game skid.

Govan along with a trio of freshmen — James Akinjo, Mac McClung, and LeBlanc — are carrying the team this year. The Hoyas are an explosive offensive team as they are leading the conference with 84.5 points a game and are 19th in the nation overall ( 83.2). They also rank 39th in the country in three-point shooting (37.7%), 65th in free throw shooting (73.7%), 51st in defensive rebounds, 76th in rebounds overall, 26th in assists and 78th in blocks.

Ewing has enough depth this year to use a 10-man rotation. The good news is that, in addition to the three freshmen mentioned above, the Hoyas are expected to return next year four others who are playing significant minutes. Plus, they will have the services of Yurtseven.
