24. Texas Tech Red Raiders

Record: 17-5 (5-4 Big 12)

Last Week: No. 19

Texas Tech is definitely at risk of falling out of the top-25. Over the past few weeks, the Red Raiders have dropped four of their last six games and now stand barely above .500 in Big 12 play. During the conference season, Texas Tech’s defense has still been relatively solid but it has been a bit more vulnerable as more talented teams have shown up on the schedule. The issue during this past stretch, though, is that the offensive concerns are continuing to rear their head.

Texas Tech’s adjusted offensive efficiency sits at 107.4 for the entire year (107th nationally) and their efficiency in conference play is dead-last out of the 10 teams. And now that the Red Raiders’ defense is not strong enough to cover up the offensive woes of this team, they are starting to lose games with a lot more regularity.

As is the case with every team in the Big 12, Texas Tech has a tough schedule remaining even if the majority of their games will come at home. The Red Raiders are safely in the Big Dance at this point, as is just about everyone in these rankings, but they do not want to slip too far and be stuck in a tough seeding position.
