25. LSU Tigers

Record: 17-4 (7-1 SEC)

Last Week: No. 17

While many other ranked teams snagged quality victories this past week, LSU struggled a bit. Even though they split their games on the week, their win over Texas A&M, even on the road, does not carry all that much weight. Then, though, they returned home and dropped a relatively weak game at the hands of Arkansas. Sure, the Razorbacks are now on the NCAA Tournament bubble because of that win but LSU should not have dropped that game at home.

Looking ahead, I have no concerns regarding the Tigers. LSU has only lost one game in conference play and their 10-game winning streak (non-conference included) prior to the Arkansas game should not simply be ignored. Head coach Will Wade is among the most underappreciated in the country and he deserves the benefit of the doubt when it comes to analyzing how the Tigers will finish out this season.

With that said, though, three of LSU’s next four games will come on the road and that is never easy. The Tigers seem like an NCAA Tournament lock at this point in time but they likely have their eyes set on an SEC regular-season title and a high seed in the dance. And while they are already projected on the No. 4-7 seed lines and own a 7-1 conference record, who is to say they cannot do both?
