4. BJ Taylor – Central Florida

Orlando, Florida is known for many things. Everything associated with Disney. What many don’t expect to find out is that it is also the home of the Central Florida Knights. The basketball team is led by a former college basketball legend in Johnny Dawkins. Dawkins has helped turned around a program that was in the basement when he got there.

When watching the Knights, the first thing that stands out is their mountain of a big man in 7’6” Tacko Fall. Fall patrols the paint and anchors the defense for the Knights. Central Florida does have another player who makes them go. Redshirt senior guard BJ Taylor is that player. To question the impact of Taylor look no further than this year. A season ago the guard was lost for the season due to injury early in the campaign. Once that happened the Knights struggled scoring the ball, and eventually missed out on the tournament.

This season the senior guard is healthy and back to leading the Knights. The guard is a great scorer much like every other player on this countdown. He may also be the most important piece to his team’s success as well in the entire list. The Knights have never won an NCAA tournament game and have only made 4 appearances in the tournament. Taylor hopes to change those fortunes and get the Knights that coveted win in the tournament. The Knights have placed themselves firmly on the bubble this year, and still have some work to do. If the Knights do get into the field they have a team who can win a game.
