15. Pittsburgh Panthers (12-13) (2-10 ACC)

Last rank: 13th (↓2)

The Pittsburgh Panthers have lost eight games in a row in conference play since starting out 2-2. Things have changed in a hurry for them, though they’ve still looked vastly improved from last year’s group.

The Panthers have lost two of their last three games by a combined five points. Since losing their first conference game by 25 points to North Carolina, they haven’t lost a game by more than 15 points.

In their last loss to Boston College on Tuesday, they lost on the road 66-57. As a team, they shot 29 percent from the floor and 27 percent from 3-point land despite 10 made 3-pointers.

The bottom fell out quicker than expected for head coach Jeff Capel and company, but it’s expected given their lack of depth in the frontcourt. That needs to improve in a hurry on the recruiting trail. Right now, the Panthers have one player committed to their 2019 recruiting class.

Up next: Virginia Tech at home on Saturday and Georgia Tech on the road on Wednesday.
