What have we learned from this week’s NCAA Basketball conference tournaments that will matter moving forward? Find out in this week’s Rauf Report.
It’s that day – Selection Sunday!
The final conference tournaments will wrap up this afternoon and, by the end of the day, we’ll have a bracket. How sweet is this?
Championship Week gave us our first real taste of March Madness with afternoon basketball, upsets galore, and several great games going on at once. We were inundated with college hoops. It felt like March.
Some take this week’s results with a grain of salt as teams are playing three or more games in consecutive days against opponents they’ve already seen multiple times, while others put extra stock into these games because we get to see what everyone looks like in a tournament setting right before the Big Dance.
As for me, I fall somewhere in the middle. Conference tournament success is not necessarily indicative of NCAA Tournament success, and failure is not necessarily indicative of future failure. But we have seen teams flex their muscle or gain momentum that propels them on a long NCAA Tournament run, and there is value in that.
So, what did we learn from Championship Week that can be applied to the NCAA Tournament? Find out this week’s biggest takeaways in the Rauf Report.
Note – this will be the first of many Rauf Report’s you’ll see this week. One will be up on Monday with predictions for the Big Dance, and then we will have takeaways following every day of NCAA Tournament action. March!
