Most Valuable Player: Cole Anthony.
Cole Anthony entered the McDonald’s All-American Game as one of the best players in the class and there was no doubt that he dominated during the event. An elite combo guard who scores as well as distributes, Anthony is tremendous. Over the course of the event, he recorded 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 7 assists to help lead the way for the East. He flashed exactly why many regard him as one of the top prospects in the class. His ability to find open teammates was evident throughout the night. The East Team they moved the ball effectively to create open looks on each possession and Anthony set that tone.
Anthony might not have been the leading scorer in the game but he did an incredible job dictating the pace and offensive scheme of the team. His creativity with the ball makes him very dangerous as he probes defenses and can finish around the hoop with either hand as well as with a nice floater. He is also not opposed to drawing extra defenders and kicking to the open man.
With regards to his recruiting, Anthony is one of the uncommitted players that competed in the McDonald’s All-American Game. And while he certainly did not need to improve his stock over the week, he did just that. Anthony is rated as the No. 4 player in the class by 247Sports and Crystal Ball predictions believe that he will most likely be headed to North Carolina.
