Wake Forest Basketball limped their way to the finish line of the regular season, but help is on the way on the recruiting trail.

Wake Forest Basketball took a massive step back under head coach Danny Manning in 2018-19. In Year 5, Manning led the team to an 11-20 record, 4-11 in the ACC. The Demon Deacons lost their final four games of the regular season to close out a disastrous campaign.

On one hand, the Demon Deacons will return with just one senior starter in 2019-20. On the other, most of their production on offense came from freshman and sophomores.

Manning’s recruiting savvy have shown in flashes so far. In 2018, he nabbed top recruit Jaylen Hoard, who had a productive freshman season, averaging 13.1 points, 7.6 rebounds and 1.5 assists per contest. Fellow freshman Sharone Wright Jr. was another solid contributor, putting up 7.1 points, 2.3 assists and 1.1 assists per game.

If both return for another year, Wake Forest should be in good shape, on paper anyway. Brandon Childress, Chaundee Brown and Olivier Sarr are all set to return as of now as well. Their incoming class doesn’t have quite the same kick as the 2018 class, but it fills their needs, nonetheless. Here’s a look at the 2019 recruiting class for the Wake Forest Demon Deacons.
