Stanford Cardinal

The Stanford Cardinal could certainly use a scorer like Desmond Cambridge Jr.. They posted a record of 15-16 last season under head coach Jerod Haase, who is having a heck of a time three years and counting into his tenure.

The Cardinal were led in scoring last season by forward Kezie Okpala (16.9 points per game) but they don’t have much production coming other than Daejon Davis.

Davis was second on the team in scoring last season with 11.4 points per contest but outside of him, they didn’t have any other double-figure scorers in the backcourt. Adding somebody like Cambridge would certainly bolster their backcourt but he’ll still have to sit a season, making his addition a waiting game more than anything.

It will be unclear how long Cambridge will be able to wait given the current environment. The Cardinal are 48-49 in three seasons under Haase. Another down season could put him on the hot seat, making Stanford a risky destination.
