No. 4 – Lon Kruger (Oklahoma)

Now I will start off by saying I think Kruger has been a very good coach the last couple of years, and I think he teams have let him down, but maybe there was more to him. Oklahoma has made the tournament the last 2 seasons even winning a game this year against Ole Miss in the 8-9 match-up, but they still just barely made it both years.

Kruger has really only had 1 player that has gone on to the next level and been an impact player in Trae Young. That was last year where to start the year the entire team looked like world beaters, then the match-up in Morgantown happened. They lost that game and never really were the same team again. What happened this season, the exact same thing happened, while they did not start as strong, nor did they flop as much, they still flopped. It looks like Kruger is coaching his team for half a year instead of an entire year.

He does not recruit many top of the line recruits, so you have to rely on 4-year players, and by that point they should be tired of second half fall offs right. Well he has lost with seniors throughout his career at Oklahoma. He has an exact 50% winning percentage in conference play at 72-72, and in his overall career there he is 160-105, not the best record for someone who people consider a top coach in the Big 12.

Kruger would be hard to let go for the university, but I think he is on the coaching hot seat for 2019-2020.
