No. 1 Memphis

Penny Hardaway is all that I need to stay. He has in one year taken a program that has been mediocre since John Calipari left, made them competitive in year 1, and with his first full season of recruiting only signed one of the top recruiting classes in the nation. He has already signed James Wiseman the No. 1 recruit in the nation along with two other top 100 recruits in Malcolm Dandridge, a high school teammate of Wiseman, and DJ Jeffries. They also still are in the running for Precious Achiuwa, Trendon Watford, and newly reclassified RJ Hampton. You might think why might he want to go there with all of them?

Well, the only other guard would be RJ Hampton in the recruiting class. They will return Tyler Harris, but he is the only returning guard that received consistent minutes. We could very well see a starting five similar to that of Duke and Kentucky in the last few years. The potential of this team even if they do not sign anyone besides Lester Quinones is unlimited. If you look at recruiting classes this year Duke is doing Duke things, but aside from them, the recruits are spread out.

That could really help this Memphis team. I think they will sign at least one other aside from Quinones too, which if that ends up being Achiuwa or Hampton could really help the team tremendously with ball handling. Achiuwa is one of Quinones teammates in AAU which could attract him to come even more having had played with someone going to the school.

The negatives to going to Memphis is that although the team is going to be uber talented, Lester could see his minutes be in the 15-20 range. If Hampton signs the backcourt would be him and Harris, leaving Lester Quinones to come off the bench. That could actually be just the spot for him. He would bring a spark off of the bench being able to hit the trifecta with some consistency.

I love Memphis for Lester Quinones, but all fine schools have a good fit in some shape or form for him. Watch out for the Memphis Tigers if they do manage to grab him like I expect they could make a run next year.
