Tom Crean brings in a stellar class for Georgia

Tom Crean is entering his second season as the head man of the Georgia Bulldogs. His first year was a rough one, winning only two games in the SEC. While arguably the biggest addition to the roster for the upcoming season would be if junior forward Nicolas Claxton decides to return to school after testing the waters in the NBA Draft.  The Bulldogs have also added Donnell Gresham, Jr. who transfers in from Northeastern, but if Georgia takes a big leap forward next season it will be helped by their stellar recruiting class.

No matter which recruiting service you look at, Georgia has a top ten class nationally and either the 2nd or 3rd best class in the conference. The class is headlined by Anthony Edwards who is a 6-5 shooting guard from Atlanta who is seen as the No. 2 prospect in the country behind James Wiseman. Edwards may be the best scorer in the 2019 class who has the ability to create his own shot as well as create for others.

The rest of the class consists of a trio of 6-6 small forwards that Crean should be able to use interchangeably, Christian Brown, Jaykwon Walton, and Toumani Camara are all versatile and give the Bulldogs frontcourt options they may need, should Claxton decide to stay in the draft. The lone guard in the class is the diminutive Sahvir Wheeler, the 5-8 guard from Texas, despite his size isn’t afraid to play amongst the trees, attacking the basket with reckless abandon.
