North Carolina Tar Heels

North Carolina is a very dangerous program in this recruitment due to the fact that they have a major need at Jalen Wilson’s position. Due to the departures of both Nassir Little and Cameron Johnson this offseason, there is a hole on the wing that needs to be filled in order for the program to check all of the boxes as a preseason national title contender. As one would expect, the Tar Heels have already put together a strong recruiting class that is headlined by top-rated guard Cole Anthony.

North Carolina is one of the top teams in the country every single year and Wilson seems like he could potentially be the last piece of the puzzle for the 2019-20 roster. With him in tow, the Tar Heels would have a very dangerous and impactful incoming recruiting class. With a trio of top-50 players leading the way (Armando Bacot being the other) and several other commits also joining the program, North Carolina would likely shoot upwards in preseason top-25 rankings.

Wilson might not be the best self-creator but that’s where having a player such as Anthony running the offense could make a major difference. As I have alluded to throughout this piece, though, Wilson’s playing style is so valued in the current age of basketball that he can fit with just about program. Because of this, his eventual decision may hinge on his relationships with each coaching staff and title aspirations.

With this said, though, it is impossible to say exactly where Wilson will end up at this point. No matter what, it seems like he will be an immediate impact player at the college level due to his size and refined game. One of these five programs is about to land an excellent prospect.
