NCAA Basketball Recruiting: Analyzing Brandon Boston Jr.’s final four
Auburn Tigers
Auburn head coach Bruce Pearl has turned around this program in a hurry. After missing the NCAA Tournament in his first three years at the helm, he has put together back-to-back excellent seasons with this las campaign culminating a Final Four appearance. It is clear that the Tigers are on the rise within the SEC and it is reasonable to assume that they will continue to progress as long as recruiting remains at a high level.
One of the major selling points for Auburn might also be an opportunity for Boston to continue playing alongside his EYBL backcourt partner in Sharife Cooper (No. 18). The Tigers are currently viewed as one of the favorites in that recruitment so they could team up to make a dynamite collegiate backcourt. Auburn excelled during this past season behind the stellar performances of Bryce Brown and Jared Harper; superb guard play is certainly a focal point of Pearl’s system.
While it might not seem like Auburn is the favorite to land Boston at this point in time, it certainly means something that the program is in his final four. The coaching staff has clearly made a strong pitch and recruiting wins are going to pile up over time. The SEC is filled with highly-accomplished head coaches and Pearl is near the top of that list.
