Bruno Fernando – C Maryland

This is going to be the pick for if they keep Kemba. I love the upside of Bruno Fernando. He slightly undersized for a center, but I think he could slot into the four and play well. He will attack the offensive glass bringing down almost three offensive boards this season at Maryland. He can also shoot from the line at around a 75% clip. He would give Walker a pick and roll partner something he has not had aside from an injury prone Dwight Howard for a season.

He would not be asked to come in and score at a very high level. If he were to average 10-7 for his first season the people in Charlotte would be more than happy. They already have one of the more underrated back-courts in basketball, so they need to improve up front. Fernando also provides a solid defensive presence something again the Hornets need right now as not many drivers are worried about Marvin Williams and Cody Zeller.

The only real downside to this pick would be that teams would not be worried about him stepping out and taking a deep jumper, something that has been growing in popularity for all forwards in basketball recently.
