Jalen Wilson

Class of 2019 – No. 50

One of the top prospects in the 2019 class, Jalen Wilson originally committed to Michigan but reopened his recruitment following Beilein’s departure. While many of the top programs in the nation have been interested, including Kansas, it is important to mention that Wilson is still interested in coming to Michigan. The expectation should be that Coach Howard at least has a meeting with Wilson to gauge mutual interest and heavily recruit the forward to recommit.

A versatile 6-foot-8 athlete with the ability to play multiple positions, Wilson would be a valuable addition to the roster moving forward. He shoots the ball extremely well from distance for a big man and can also rebound relatively well. He will need to add some muscle before consistently finishing through traffic at the college level but he should be a highly-effective player from the first second that he takes the court.

Now that Wilson has reopened his recruitment, though, several elite programs have been in contact. Michigan now might be a bit behind the other schools but hopefully Coach Howard can lure him back to Ann Arbor. Wilson would be a really tough loss in this coaching change as he is one of the more talented players in the class, in my opinion.
