Tennessee Volunteers

Tennessee is coming off of back-to-back very strong campaigns under head coach Rick Barnes but they are losing a ton of talent this offseason. With Admiral Schofield and Grant Williams both departing this offseason, the Volunteers could certainly use a boost in the frontcourt. There should no doubt surrounding the idea that Blackshear would be a welcome addition to the team. With this said, though, Tennessee’s scholarship situation makes this a bit tricky.

Following the announcement of Victor Bailey Jr.‘s transfer to the program, the Volunteers are now full on scholarships. This means that someone would have to depart the program in order for Blackshear to commit. But there are already six newcomers joining Tennessee heading into this coming season and seeing another new face is certainly possible. For the time being, though, it seems as though Tennessee is not regarded as one of the favorites in this transfer recruitment.

With that said, Blackshear would be an amazing addition if possible. With so much talent leaving this offseason, Tennessee projects to be much younger during this coming campaign. Blackshear’s experience would offset this and he could also emerge as a leader for the young bigs on the roster.
