Gonzaga Bulldogs

It is no secret that Gonzaga is one of the most successful programs in the nation. Year in and year out, head coach Mark Few has his team playing at an extremely high level. And while there will always be those who doubt the Bulldogs, it is impossible to overlook their regular-season and postseason successes as of late. Looking ahead to this coming season, many expect that Gonzaga will be ranked in the preseason top-25 but they are losing a ton of talent.

With regards to how this would impact Blackshear, the program had to wave goodbye to two major frontcourt pieces in Brandon Clarke and Rui Hachimura. It might also be important to mention that these two players could be drafted in the first round of the NBA Draft later this month. Killian Tillie is coming back to campus for this coming season but Blackshear would likely still find a substantial role in Spokane.

Coach Few puts his frontcourt pieces in great positions to succeed and this could be a great mutual fit for this coming season. For the time being, though, Gonzaga does not seem like one of the favorites in this transfer recruitment. As Goodman puts it, the program is “trying,” and that does not boost the hope level for Blackshear->Gonzaga.
