Nico Mannion

The #9-ranked recruit in the country per 247 Sports and the top point guard in the 2019 Class, Nico Mannion is the headliner in this year’s Wildcats’ recruiting class.

Mannion, a 6-foot-3 guard from Phoenix, Arizona, is one of the most well-known players in his class. Mannion has been a mainstay in social media mixtapes and highlights throughout his high school career, mostly due to his unconventional appearance, and will give Arizona a near household name.

However, don’t let the flaming head hair fool you, as Mannion is more than a ginger jump-shooter. Mannion is one of the best pure scorers in his class, was a McDonald’s All-American, and is the ideal player to run the point for the Wildcats. Mannion’s high basketball IQ will make his transition from high school ball to college smooth, and considering the fact that he will be surrounded by other elite play-makers, Mannion should put up huge numbers in his freshman season.

Mannion’s outlook past 2019-20 is unknown, given the fact that he is a highly-touted recruit and polished point guard, Mannion will likely be a first-round pick in the 2020 NBA Draft.

A lot has to happen between now and then, but in the meantime, Mannion looks like the savior that this Arizona Basketball team needs.
