Josh Green

The second of two McDonald’s All-Americans in the Wildcats’ recruiting class, Josh Green and Mannion expect to be one of College Basketball’s most dynamic duos in 2019-20.

Green, a 6-foot-6 small forward from IMG Academy, is the third-ranked small forward in the 2019 Class, and the #13 overall prospect.

Green will step into a major role at Arizona next season, assuming the starting small forward role from day one. A three-and-d forward, Green is a gifted scorer with a smooth jump shot. Green is a monster in transition and should provide several highlight-reel plays with Mannion on the fast break.

Like Mannion, Green is a projected first-round pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. Green is a little more unknown, as he was a high-riser in his last two high school seasons, recently coming into his own as both a shooter and a defender. Mannion is likely more of a one-and-done threat, but Green will surely be gone after his freshman season if he performs near his expectations.

Green is one of the most athletic players in the entire 2019 Class and will be a major boost to the Arizona attack on offense given his speed and versatility. Between he and Mannion, the Wildcats have arguably the best 1-2 punch of incoming freshman in the country.

Arizona’s pair of five-stars give them a nice outlook in their own right, but considering the returning players (Chase Jeter, Brandon Williams), Arizona has one of the most balanced starting fives in the country heading into the 2019-20 season.
