NBA Draft 2019: Options for Philadelphia 76ers to target throughout draft
Justin Wright-Foreman – Hofstra
I am well aware I first presented a player from the Ohio Valley Conference and am now writing about Justin Wright-Foreman from the prestigious Colonial Athletic Association. Neither conference is known as a strong conference for basketball, or any sport for that matter, but stick with me here. Wright-Foreman is a baller.
He is not on many NBA teams’ draft boards and the teams’ that are discussing him have late second round picks. There is a definite possibility that the 76ers could invite him to camp if he does in fact go undrafted. However, why not use one of the four second round picks to take a shot on an under the radar player. Like Windler, Wright-Foreman boasted a 43% three-point shooting percentage and is efficient from the rest of the field as well. He averaged a strong 27 points per game in his senior year and led Hofstra to a regular season CAA championship.
Unfortunately, the Pride lost in the Conference Championship, and as expected the CAA does not receive any at large bids to the NCAA Tournament due to their strength of schedule or lack thereof. If undrafted, Wright-Foreman will receive many summer league offers and I highly expect him to receive an NBA contract from his summer league play. Because of this, Elton needs to get ahead of the wave and bring Wright-Foreman to the 76ers bench for the upcoming year.
