Strengths

Mfiondu Kabengele was considered the Sixth Man for the Florida State Seminoles in 2018-19, but playing 21.6 minutes of action per contest allowed him to make an impact on the floor.

His length allowed him to emerge as a quality shot blocker and rebounder this past season. He averaged 1.5 blocks and 5.9 rebounds per game for the Seminoles during his sophomore year, both significant boosts from 2017-18.

Kabengele ranked ninth in the ACC in blocks (56) and blocks per game and 20th in rebounds per game. He’ll need to really hit the boards at the next level, though his contributions on offense offset much of that last year.

The 6-foot-8 big man is a versatile scoring threat who can stretch the floor with his ability to knock down 3’s but he also isn’t shy about getting to the free throw line. He finished fourth in free throws made (137) and fifth in free throw attempts (180) in the ACC this past season.

He’s a bulky forward that won’t be restricted to the paint at the next level, that’s for sure. Look for Kabengele’s name to be an early surprise selection in this year’s NBA Draft.
