2. Zach Norvell Jr. – Gonzaga

2018-19 stats: 14.9 ppg 4.3 rpg 3.1 apg

The redshirt sophomore guard benefitted greatly from having two potential lottery picks in the frontcourt in Clarke and Hachimura but they in return benefitted from having such a perimeter threat as well.

Zach Norvell Jr. shot 37% from three-point range in two years at Gonzaga, taking over seven attempts a game this past season. He hit at least four three-pointers eight different times and made at one in all but three games. The 6’5 guard took a whooping 17 attempts from deep in a game against Creighton for a career-high 28 points.

Primarily known as a marksman with the ability to create his own shot, Norvell Jr. also improved as a facilitator and ball handler. He was the primary backup point guard to Josh Perkins and racked up at least five assists eight times. As well as being a solid defender with size, the former Bulldog is an ideal shooting guard in the modern-day NBA.

Utah was a good team last season from the three-point line but you can never have enough shooting. Norvell is one of the best shooters in this draft and at No. 53 potentially would be the most likely to stick around. There are some concerns about how useful he can be when not launching long balls but with Donovan Mitchell and potentially another quality around, the opportunities would be there for him.
